Jarrolds originally started as a successful owner-managed business in the Ipswich area, concentrating on the delivery of domestic projects. Typically, this was new or replacement uPVC windows, new front doors, conservatories and other similar items.

The business was run very successfully over two decades by the original owner, Steve Jarrold.

When Steve decided to retire in 2019, a Sunday lunchtime conversation with Steve’s son Dan, ended up with the idea that Steve would retire and Dan would take the business on.

The Journey

Dan was running a successful construction services business in East Anglia with a contractor client base.

The idea was to pivot the business towards larger contractor and developer schemes, sharing the client base between the businesses and shaping Jarrolds over time to this market. The handover took place in 2020 and the plan was put into effect.

The business began reshaping itself, hiring new team members, shaping the supply chain and focusing on delivery for the new and growing client base. We keep to these principles daily, and work to keep the journey going.
