The renovation of this Edwardian-era school building took place in 2021. Jarrolds installation consisted of a blend of traditional sliding sashes and PVCu casement frames converging classic aesthetics and contemporary functionality. Previously fitted with timber frames, the windows underwent an upgrade to PVCu, offering enhanced durability and insulation properties. Among these upgrades, some frames feature arched heads, adding a distinctive architectural flair to the building's Edwardian façade. While maintaining the visual appeal of the original sliding sashes, the new frames promise improved longevity and resistance to weather elements. The traditional sliding sashes, characteristic of Edwardian architecture, retain their charm and elegance. With smooth operation, they provide ample natural light and ventilation, ensuring a conducive learning environment within the classrooms. Meanwhile, the introduction of UPVC frames brings several practical advantages. Their robust construction offers increased security and energy efficiency, reducing heat loss and enhancing overall comfort.
