Below are some general tips to keep you, your home and property safe and secure.

Tip 1. Make sure all window and door locks are used and locked when your home is empty.
Tip 2. Make sure every external door has a sturdy and well installed dead bolt lock.
Tip 3. If you have sliding glass doors make sure they are secured with a dead bolt lock.
Tip 4. If you have basement windows secure them with grilles or grates.
Tip 5. Give a spare key to someone you trust as opposed to leaving a key under a doormat or in a flowerpot.
Tip 6. Install a peephole in all entry doors so you can see who is outside without opening the door.
Tip 7. Install bright outside lights and put them on a timer switch.
Tip 8. When on holiday, create the effect that people are in your house. Have lights on timer switches.
Tip 9. Make a list of your valuables, jewellery, etc. Take photos of your items and list their serial numbers.
